TOPIC: United States Army in World War II

Hello,

Seeing the passing of Martin Blumenson, RIP, makes me wonder about the United States Army in World War II series.

What is today's take on these works? Useful? Slanted? Incomplete, especially those written before Ultra was declassified? Or invaluable?

I have read about half of the series: all of the Pacific, and up through Breakout and Pursuit in the ETO. I particularly enjoyed the volumes on New Guinea, as that was a subject that I had no information.

I note that none of the series have feedback here. I guess I might add some.

How about Mr. Stone? Do you have any thoughts on this series?

Thanks,
Ed Youngstrom

They're always a good place to begin, but never the last word.
