TOPIC: 404th Bombarment Squadron

My father survived a B24 crash off herbert Island in 1943. The only record that we can find on this accident was found in a book by Kevin Don Hutchison titled "WWII in the North Pacific" Chronology and Fact book. Item 18, 19 and 22 on pages 102 and 103. Does anyone know where I can find any kind of record on this to see if my dad has a medal for this accident.
