TOPIC: Best of 2004?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but isn't there going to be a "Best of 2004" like other years? One of the most enjoyable features of this site!

Sadly, I've concluded -- partly because of the effort required to defend against constant barrages of electronic ballot-stuffing spam votes -- that after eight years of conducting the annual Top Ten voting, I simply don't have the time and energy to run it this year.

As you might know, I run this site completely by myself, strictly in my spare time, and entirely for the fun of it. The pittance I earn from advertising and other services doesn't even cover what I pay my ISP for hosting every month.

Given that this is a one-man show, I need to spend my time and energy judiciously in order to keep the site going. In trying to balance all the projects going on around here, it became apparent that something had to give. Unfortunately, that means no Top Ten voting....

Hi,

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed, but I understand completely. I love this site, as it's the only place to stay on top of the gigantic and always-growing literature on WWII.

So, kudos for keeping this running!

Thanks,
Mike
