Also, any recommendations on exceptionally good books on the Canadian Army in particular wars would be appreciated, too. Stacey, C.P. The Canadian Army, 1939-1945: An Official Historical Summary. Ottawa: Cloutier, 1948.
For a much fuller account, try these three from The Official History of the Canadian Army in the Second World War:
