Dabney Q.M. Dabney has mailed its "Catalogue 528" with 48 pages of secondhand WWII titles prefaced with the note: "We just bought a large private library of World War II books. This catalogue contains Part I of this collection."

Hamilton The latest "Bargain Books" catalog from Edward R. Hamilton, dated 18 December, contains the usual small assortment of discount-priced WWII titles.

Death of Clay Blair, Jr. Clay Blair, Jr. -- author of Silent Victory, Hitler's U-Boat War, and many other books of military history -- died of a heart attack at his home in Wisconsin on 16 December at age 73.

New publisher Keith Bonn, author of When the Odds Were Even, has formed his own publishing company, Aegis, based in Ft. Monroe, Virginia, with its first three titles as follows:

Unit history The Story of the Crusaders, The 386th Bomb Group (M) in WWII has been reprinted in a softcover edition by the 386th Bomb Group Association, Inc.
Military History Bookshop "Catalogue of Books 1998-D" is now available from the Military History Bookshop in London with 48 densely packed pages of military books from all eras.
Military Book Club Selections for December: Blair. Hitler's U-Boat War, volume II: The Hunted, 1942-1944
From Joe Balkoski Joe reports that the new edition of his Beyond the Beachhead from Stackpole Books has been moved to a January release date. "The new edition includes a Foreword by Stephen Ambrose, a new Preface by me including some of the fresh information I've learned about the division over the years, and about 7 or 8 minor corrections from the original edition." Battlefield From Danbury, Connecticut we hear that Stan Kislow has updated the online inventory at his Battlefield Books website with about 2000 secondhand military titles.
UPK University Press of Kansas is back in the news with a new catalog offering special discount prices on all their military history titles.
Kisselburg Paul Kisselburg, having recently updated his online inventory, also sends along his latest printed catalog, number 35, with over 600 used WWII books for sale.
Inventory update Brian Russell of Fourth Street Book Shop has updated his online inventory of secondhand WWII titles and added a new category for unit histories.
The Bookman From New York City comes the red-clad "Winter 1998" catalog of The Military Bookman with categories of WWII books including USAAF, the Atlantic campaign, and the fall and occupation of western Europe.

Aberdeen Tom Petteys of Aberdeen Bookstore, specializing in new books, has updated his website with more than 1200 WWII-related titles.
Top Ten Books of 1998 Almost sixty books have received votes so far in our balloting for the Top Ten Books of 1998. The votes are piling up and some leaders are emerging from the pack, but at least a couple dozen titles remain in the running to finish in the Top Ten. Every vote counts, so cast your ballot for your favorites before the end of the month.
