Senshi Sosho

The Corts Foundation—responsible for the translation, editing, and preparation of the text and maps—tells us volume 26 of the Japanese Senshi Sosho series has been slightly delayed, but it should be available from Leiden University Press in April or May 2018 as The Operations of the Navy in the Dutch East Indies and the Bay of Bengal.

Also, "The board of our foundation decided to conclude the Senshi Sosho project with an air force volume. The [Japanese] National Institute of Defense Studies granted us the copyright to publish a third volume with parts of volumes 5 and 34. This involves the air force and also the operations of the Japanese 16th Army at Sumatra."

News from the Netherlands

Jack Didden reports that De Zwaardvisch has tentatively decided to reprint Autumn Gale. This would be a very small print run and unavailable from the usual sources, so those with an interest in the book should contact De Zwaardvisch directly.

In addition, Jack has begun preliminary work on a new book about the retreat of German 15th Army in 1944. It's not expected to be available before summer 2019 at the earliest.

Brian Burmeister, publisher of The Battle of the Wolchow Kessel in Primary German Documents, volume I: The XXXVIII Armee Korps in the Battle of the Wolchow Kessel, emailed us an update on his next release:

"Nothing new to report in regards to Volume II. The reports for Volume II are about 90% done, but I am waiting patiently to sell more copies of Volume I and the map sets before we finish with Volume II."
