News from Helion
Helion & Company released volume 1 of Richard Meredith's very ambitious series Phoenix: A Complete History of the Luftwaffe, 1918-1945 in 2016. Volume two, amounting to almost a thousand pages and covering 1935-1937, became available this month. The third volume, dealing with the evolution of the Luftwaffe during 1937-1939, remains on the schedule for publication in April of 2018, although that date will probably slide a bit. In any event, this series appears likely to be the broadest and most detailed history of the Luftwaffe in the English language.

The nearer your destination
In February 2008 we were first informed about what promised to be the ultimate English-language OB of German units in World War II. At that time German Ground Forces of World War II: Complete Orders of Battle for Army Groups, Armies, Army Corps, and Other Commands of the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS, September 1, 1939, to May 8, 1945 by William T. McCroden and Thomas Nutter was scheduled for publication in October 2008. Due to a severe case of slip-sliding away, this week we've been notified the long-awaited book is now scheduled for release in early 2018. Perhaps its publication will coincide with its tenth anniversary. ;-)
