Despite our best efforts to stay on top of important new books about World War II, occasionally one slips past us, and that was the case with The Invasion of the Dutch East Indies from Leiden University Press in the Netherlands. Written by the War History Office of the National Defense College of Japan and originally published in the 1960s as the third volume (out of 102) of the semi-official Japanese war history series, an English edition translated and edited by Willem Remmelink appeared in 2015. The printed version of the English edition remains available from Leiden, and a free download is also available.
