In memoriam

WWII fighter pilot and post-war test pilot Robert Hoover—who flew with the US 52nd Fighter Group, was shot down in 1944, escaped from Stalag Luft 1, stole an Fw 190 from an unguarded field, and flew to safety—died in Los Angeles on 25 October at the age of 94.

It will contain comprehensive histories of the three panzer battalions (103, 129 and 160) that were components of the German 3rd, 29th, and 60th Motorized Divisions during the Stalingrad campaign. Scheduled for publication at the end of this year.
