Dutch News
6 May 2014

Jack Didden—author of the very popular Autumn Gale - Herbststurm—kindly sent us this news about his latest project:

"Maarten and I are currently working on a new book about Kampfgruppe Walther which will follow the format of Autumn Gale but obviously—since the Kampfgruppe only existed for a month—will not be as bulky. The battle group was involved in actions against Joe's Bridge (14 September 1944) and Hell's Highway (17-24 September 1944), including the cutting of this vital route for 24 hours, plus the defence of the Overloon area (29 September - 17 October 1944). They fought against the Guards Armoured Division, the 101 US Airborne Division, British 8 Corps (the 3rd British Infantry Division and the 11th Armoured Division), and the US 7th Armored Division. The book will contain much new information about the Kampfgruppe including the various Fallschirm and SS units assigned to it. We hope to publish the book next year."
