War Diary This seems like a good day to remind everyone that we continue to offer our very detailed War Diary, with almost 60,000 entries (and still growing) covering all the action on every day from 1 September 1939 through 2 September 1945. Not only that, but each individual entry includes links to books about that event. Pretty impressive, and a great way to discover more books about any topic of interest.

News from Doug Stankey Author Doug Stankey sends along this update: "Volume 2 of our book Dive-Bomber and Ground-Attack Units of the Luftwaffe has been delayed again. It had been scheduled for release in July 2012 but now it has been set back to January 2013. Originally it had been slated for March 2010! At least the delays are getting shorter. "Due to troubles with the publisher and the general economic climate we decided to release our Luftwaffe officer Career Database on to the net as a series of PDFs for no charge at http://www.ww2.dk/lwoffz.html. This contains all the career data that we have found for those officers who held commands, staff positions, or held a rank of Hptm. or higher. This compilation is about 1,800 pages long and involves some 36,000 personnel. In a year or two we will issue an updated version. "In a similar manner, co-author Larry deZeng intends to release his 'Airfields of the Axis' compilation on the net. Among other things, it describes what units were stationed at each field, who commanded what and when. Depending on the extent of detail it could range as high as 3,000 pages in length."
