Editor's Pick Sometimes when we run across an interesting/unusual/informative book, especially an older or out-of-print one, we like to bring it to your attention. Here's one: Fenyo, Mario D. Hitler, Horthy, and Hungary: German-Hungarian Relations, 1941-1944. New Haven, CT: Yale University Press, 1972 Slightly dated but still the best introduction to Hungarian participation in the war. Despite the title, includes Horthy's overtures to Soviets, Brits, etc.

This day in history Sixty-five years ago today, on 4 February 1944, the war continued around the globe as the battle of the Korsun pocket raged on the Russian Front, US 5th Army battled around Cassino and the Anzio beachhead in Italy, US forces completed capture of Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, and Japanese forces launched Operation Ha-Go in the Arakan.
