This day in history Sixty-five years ago today, on 2 December 1943, a Luftwaffe attack on Allied shipping at Bari harbor in Italy resulted in the loss of eighteen vessels, including the John Harvey, whose cargo of mustard gas accounted for almost 1000 casualties in the harbor area.
