Nathan Gordon—USN PBY pilot who received the Medal of Honor for rescuing fifteen downed USAAF airmen from the water off Kavieng, New Ireland under enemy fire on 15 February 1944—died in Arkansas on 8 September at the age of 92.

Henry deZeng, co-author of the well-received Bomber Units of the Luftwaffe 1933-1945 volumes, tells us "...[o]ur next two volumes are due at the end of 2009 and will cover all Stuka (dive bomber) and Schlachtflieger (ground attack) units of the Luftwaffe. These will be considerably more comprehensive that the Bomber volumes and will be in a modified format and style that facilitates readability. We believe these two works will be the definitive reference on the subject for years to come."
