Editor's Pick
1 March 2007

Sometimes when we run across an interesting/unusual/informative book, especially an older or out-of-print one, we like to bring it to your attention. Here's one:

Hauner, Milan. India in Axis Strategy: Germany, Japan, and Indian Nationalists in the Second World War. Stuttgart: Klett-Cotta, 1981

Published in Germany but written in English, Hauner's work provides the definitive history not of India during the war, but rather of Axis planning in regard to India. Much material on Subhas Chandra Bose and Azad Hind.
