News from Military Press "Good afternoon. We have just finished printing Leo Niehorster's The United States Army Order of Battle: 7 December 1941, volume 1. This volume is the Army O/B. The next volume, on US Army Air Force December 1941, is here waiting to be printed. "From Jack Hays, Volume 7: Chemical Warfare Service has also been printed. "We should have out this autumn two volumes covering "Operation Deadlight." This was the final capture and later destruction of the U-boats at the end of WWII."

Editor's Pick Sometimes when we run across an interesting/unusual/informative book, especially an older or out-of-print one, we like to bring it to your attention. Here's one: Orpen, Neil. South African Forces World War II: East African and Abyssinian Campaigns. Cape Town: Purnell, 1968 In a conflict far removed from industrialized mass armies engaged in a war to the death in Europe, Orpen meticulously describes in considerable detail low-intensity battles and marches more closely resembling a Victorian colonial campaign of the 19th Century.
In memoriam Holocaust survivor Simon Wiesenthalwho dedicated his post-war life to bringing Nazi criminals to justicedied in Austria on 20 September at the age of 96.
