Sometimes when we run across an interesting/unusual/informative book, especially an old and out-of-print one, we like to bring it to your attention. Here's one:

De Franceschi, Costantino et al. Le Operazioni delle Unita Italiane al Fronte Russo, 1941-1943. Roma: Officio Storico, 1977

Although written entirely in Italian, this official history volume contains the comprehensive story of Mussolini's expeditionary force on the Russian front, including many maps, OBs, photos, and wartime documents.

News from John Foreman
18 September 2003

Author John Foreman sends this message: "Fighter Command War Diaries, volume 5 is finished (writing and typesetting). I'm just printing it off and my good friend and colleague Chris Goss (author of Bloody Biscay and others) will proof-read it. Then indexing and off to the printers! This will run to nearly 450 pages, plus index, which will bring it to nearly 500. The format is, of course, the same. However, I have reduced the number of combat reports and increased the number of 'day accounts', which provide rather more information and interest."
