Sometimes when we run across an interesting/unusual/informative book, especially an old and out-of-print one, we like to bring it to your attention. Here's one:

Turner, L. C. F. et al. War in the Southern Oceans, 1939-45. Cape Town: Oxford University Press, 1961

Prepared under the auspices of the South African War Histories Section, this is a well-written and fascinating account of actions—U-boats, Japanese submarines, the Allied invasion of Madagascar, etc—in the waters adjacent to southern Africa.
