News from David Glantz The prolific Colonel Glantz is hard at work on a large number of new projects for next year, as he explains here: "My publication plans for 2001 are tentative. Nevertheless, they involve a short study (150 pages) on the Battle for Leningrad 1941-1944, commissioned by a British publisher, an expanded version of the study (about 500 pages), a follow-on to Stumbling Colossus entitled Colossus Reborn: the Red Army in 1943, a study of the Soviet February-March 1943 offensive, entitled Prelude to Kursk, and a short commissioned work on Operation Barbarossa (150 pages). It remains to be seen, however, whether or not time will permit me to prepare all of these works. The short Leningrad is complete, the expanded Leningrad is close to complete, Colossus Reborn in two-thirds complete, Prelude to Kursk is two-thirds complete, and Barbarossa is one-third complete. "In addition, in the realm of self-publishing, I hope to publish a finished Atlas on the Battle of Smolensk (July-August 1941) and an Atlas on the L'vov-Sandomiersz Offensive (July-August 1944)."

I am now on the home stretch, writing the Guadalcanal chapters, and expect to submit it for publication review next fall.
