Consisting of 190 large-format maps, this atlas covers the Soviet Stalingrad counteroffensive, Soviet operations along the Chir River, the German Stalingrad relief attempt, the Middle Don and Kotel'nikovo operations, and Soviet reduction of Stalingrad proper. It also contains period terrain maps of the region and operations ignored in previous Soviet works, such as Soviet 5th Tank Army's attempts to crush German defenses along the Chir River in December 1942."
